Scrap Metal Prices Update for Steel-PRICES GOING DOWN about $1.75/Hundred Pounds, Goldsboro, NC, 27530

Scrap Metal Prices
Steel/Junk Cars
Goldsboro Metal Recycling
9/28/15

Based on some last minute market moves, we are now almost sure, prices will be down about $1.75/Hundred pounds for Ferrous/Steel.

We thought this would be effective today Monday, but it now seems like we can hold this off for another day or two.

If you have any ferrous material, today, Monday is the time to get it to us.

We are sorry for this action in a day or so, that we have to take, but global markets have deteriorated very significantly, mainly cashed by China's continued slowing.

See our website for our weekly report.  Click below for last week's report.  This week's report will be posted after noon, Monday.

Scrap metal prices will probably come down next Monday.  Prices have come down almost steady for 18 months and started coming down faster since this past February.

The major reason remains China.  As an example, see the below article that hit the news just 4 hours ago.  "China's mammoth manufacturing sector fell to a six-and-a-half-year low of 47.0 in September, rekindling worries over the world's second-largest economy."

Two years ago, China was buying enormous amounts of scrap metal from the U.S.  Today they are buying very little, so the demand for scrap metal is down significantly, so prices are down.

The other major factor is that with demand for steel down in China and Europe, those areas are sending finished goods steel to the U.S., which is hurting U.S. steel mills.

There is no sign that this will be getting better soon so our prices for Steel, Junk Cars, Old Appliances and more, continue to decline.

We remain doing our best to provide great service and the highest possible prices, but demand for our product is down and steel mills are lowering their prices to us.

For more on the scrap metal markets, you may want to see our weekly report that is on our website.  This week's report can he found at http://www.goldsboroscrapmetalrecycling.com/goldsboro-recycling-scrap-metal-commodities-report.html

Asian stocks lose footing on renewed China jitters

A board shows the stock movements inside the Shanghai Stock Exchange in the Lujiazui Financial district of Shanghai, China.
Asian equities slid deeper into the red on Wednesday, after a preliminary reading of China's mammoth manufacturing sector fell to a six-and-a-half-year low of 47.0 in September, rekindling worries over the world's second-largest economy.
The downbeat sentiment persisted even as Chinese President Xi Jinping defended his country's growth pace and reassured the world that China's financial markets will remain stable in his first policy address during a state visit to the United States.
"The flash China PMI fell more than market participants [had] expected and the PMI is also well below the 50-point threshold, which reaffirms that Chinese economic activity continues to slow and this adding to global economic and financial concerns," Elias Haddad, senior currency strategist at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, told CNBC Asia's "Street Signs."
An unimpressive handover from offshore markets also weighed on Asian bourses.
Major U.S. averages crashed more than 1 percent overnight, with materials shares among the hardest-hit due to a sell-off in commodities on the back of lingering worries about a slower-growing China.
News that Volkswagen would make a provision of $7.3 billion after allegations it cheated on vehicle emission tests sparked a global selloff in auto stocks. The Nasdaq Biotech Index also extended losses into a second day after U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said she would propose a monthly cap of $250 on prescription drugs.
Across the pond, the pan-European STOXX 600 finished the day significantly lower, down 3.1 percent as autos tanked and weaker oil prices weighing on investor sentiment.

Based on continued weakness in exports of scrap metal from the United States to China, scrap metal is in a over supply position, so steel mills have yet again, dropped prices.  Based on that we have had to drop prices again on ferrous-steel and Junk Cars.

We as always continue to do our best to pay this most and be the best Goldsboro Recycling Center we can be.

Metal Upgrading! Scrap Your Metal Recycling for More Cash At Goldsboro Metal Recycling! 801 N. John St., Goldsboro, NC, 27530, 919-731-5600

Goldsboro METAL RECYCLING
WANTS YOU TO MAKE MORE MONEY
WHEN YOU RECYCLE SCRAP METAL!

Goldsboro Metal Recycling buys scrap in all shapes and sizes- but, in truth, we pay different amounts depending on the condition of the metal.

Recycling Scrap Metal is a great way to make some fast cash, especially if you separate, sort, and strip your items before you scrap the metal.

Separating METAL WIRES from appliances, making different piles for different types of metals, and stripping the plastic coatings off of metals are some easy ways to ensure you’re getting the MOST MONEY FOR YOUR SCRAP METAL.

Goldsboro Metal Recycling is a North Carolina Scrap Yard that purchases metal and processes it to be resold as the raw materials for metal manufacturing companies. If you sell us items that are a combination of materials we will mostly purchase it as the grade called “shred.” If you have appliances that you would like to recycle, you will get more if you cut off the wires, remove the batteries, and break the item down into as many individual types of metal as possible. When you separate the materials inside your appliances, we can purchase the metals at their individual prices (which is always more than we pay for shred).

It’s also important to make sure your metals are separated into groups that can be easily moved. If you sell us a tangled pile of wires, we have to purchase all of the wire as shred- even if some of the wire is much more valuable. If we cannot separate types of metals, they are called “dirty” and they must be purchases at a lower rate.

Lastly, when possible (and safe), we recommend you strip any plastic coating off of your scrap metal and wires. The picture below shows some Aluminum Scrap Metal. To be exact, they areAluminum Fenders with a plastic coating on them. If we purchase the Aluminum Fenders in the state shown below, you would receive less money than if you took the couple of seconds to remove the plastic coating layer. Removing plastic coating is the easiest way to get MORE MONEY FOR YOUR SCRAP METAL!

NC Current Scrap Metal Prices at Goldsboro Metal Recycling-Call 919-731-5600, Copper, Aluminum, Junk Cars

NC Scrap Metal Prices in Goldsboro

Scrap Metal Prices are now the lowest that have been since 2009.  Copper which  hit a high of $4.66 on COMEX dropped to $2.31 this week, less than half of what it was.

Steel, Cars and Appliances are about a less than a third of what they were.

There is not an easy answer.  At Goldsboro Metal Recycling we do our best to pay you the most per pound for your Scrap Metal, Copper, Aluminum, Junk Cars, Computers, Old Appliances and more, but the amount we get is now at multi year lows.

The U.S. economy is not what we want it to be, but it is OK.  North Carolina's economy is better than most states.  The problem is China uses more than half the world's metal and their economy has slowed down significantly.  If they are not using a lot of metal, prices come down.

We are not just the average junk yard or salvage yard.  We remain a full service Goldsboro Recycling Center right here in Wayne County.  We are the Convenience Center that pays you cash for your metal trash when you recycle, even your old aluminum cans.

Cramer: Why copper & gold are ready to shine

COMMENTSJoin the Discussion

Jim Cramer continued Chart Week this week to touch base with some of Mad Money's best technicians and learn more about their mode of analysis and what the future could hold for stocks.
That is why Cramer spoke with Carley Garner, a technician and co-founder of DeCarley Trading and author of "A Trader's First Book on Commodities." She is also Cramer's colleague at RealMoney.com.
Cramer has always said that copper is an important metal that could provide investors with a great read on the state of the global economy, as well as gold which hit an eight-month low on Thursday. He uses copper as a reading especially for China.
Do investors need to have a stomach of steel to invest in these metals, or could it be time to consider a bullish position?

Copper has been on a massive downtrend for months now, but when Garner looked at the charts she thought that maybe the downward slide could be coming to an end. Copper has traded above $2.40 for the past decade, with exception of the financial crisis in 2008.
However, this week brought some volatile action which resulted in the price dropping to $2.38 and quickly reversed into the mid $2.50s. What does this mean?
"For now I'm thinking that $2.40 is going to hold, and if it does then we will run into some resistance at $2.80," Garner said.
Additionally, if the price gets above $2.80, then Garner predicts a massive rally for the bulls, up to even the $3.80s.
One of the reasons why Garner thinks copper could be on an uptrend is because of the seasonal tendencies of it in the past 20 years. Copper has a tendency to trade weaker in the beginning of June, and bottom by early July. Looking at the monthly chart, Garner also sees that it is poised to rally until the end of August.
And while gold obviously has much different fundamentals, Garner saw good news ahead for this precious metal as well. Many investors steer clear of gold because it doesn't have much activity or pay dividends.

However, Garner thinks that what is important to note about it is the fact that speculators are always long gold and rarely hold a short position. At the moment, there is a small bullish position building in gold, which tells Garner that the market could start heating up again.
"A lot of the weakness in gold has been 100 percent due to the dollar. So, that is a big factor here," Garner added.
Ultimately, Garner said the key level to watch for gold is the support around $1,125 to $1,120. If the price can break above $1,230, that could trigger to make the bulls happy all the way up to $1,305 or $1,400.
